CYSTIC RENAL DYSPLASIA

Description
The specimen consists of two kidneys with attached bladder and urethra. There is also a testis present on the left with adjacent testicular cord. The right kidney shows fetal lobulation and has a normal attachment to the bladder. The left kidney, which is partially attached to the lower pole of the right kidney, appears atrophic and contains extensive areas of cyst formation. The left ureter is rudimentary and is dilated in its distal portion immediately adjacent to its attachment to the roof of the bladder. The bladder appears normal as does the urethra. The testis and cord are normal.
History
